Meet Doug
Doug Shoumaker, Psy.S., LSP, NCSP is a licensed school psychologist in the state of Florida with experience in the public school and private practice settings. He has worked at all school levels, including students from pre-kindergarten through college. His public school experience along with his clinical and judicial system knowledge of the setting provides him with an understanding of the 504 and ESE eligibility requirements to better assist parents and students navigate the public school setting.
Doug earned his bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Southeastern University in Lakeland, FL and his Master’s and Specialist degrees in School Psychology from the University of Louisiana – Monroe, LA. He will be completing his Ph.D in School Psychology from Texas Tech University in December 2027.
He is currently licensed to practice school psychology in Florida, Texas, Colorado, Tennessee, Alaska, Arizona, Delaware, Alaska, and Minnesota. He is also a certified school psychologist (NCSP) through the National Association of School Psychologist.
In addition to his Florida licensure, Doug is working on his certification in Crisis Intervention and Domestic Violence from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, LA. Future plans include completing a certification in school neuropsychology.
Doug is a native of Texas, but has lived and practiced School Phychology in many other states, including international practice in Germany. When not working with children and their parents, Doug enjoys traveling, writing music, photography, and long walks on the beach.
